Free as a Bird Friendship Card

How can you not love these adorable birds from the Free as a Bird stamp set from Stampin’ Up!? The new Stitched Nested Labels die I used on the Gorgeous Grape cardstock helps highlight the bird images. LOVE them!

You can find the Free as a Bird stamp set and Stitched Nested Labels Dies in the Stampin’ Up! 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. Check them out in My Online Store.

I colored the images with Watercolor Pencils and blended the colors with the Blender Pens. Watch my video below to learn this easy coloring technique. Using the Layered Leaves embossing folder evokes the image of birds in a tree. Now, if only the Clear Wink of Stella that I used would show in my photo.

Do you hate to fussy cut? I know many of my friends do. So, I’ve created an alternate card for you.

Free as a Bird Friendship Card

I hope you will give this colorful friendship card a try. I had a great time creating it, and I know you will too!

Cutting Instructions:  Garden Green cardstock (card base) 4-1/4 x 11; score at 5-1/2; Shimmery White cardstock 3-3/4 x 5 (2) (emboss one of them with the Layered Leaves embossing folder) (stamp flowers and leaves and color with watercolors on the second piece. Mount on inside of card) and 2-3/4 x 4-1/4 (stamp birds, color and fussy cut); Gorgeous Grape cardstock 3 x 5-1/2 (die cut with Stitched Nested Labels then emboss with Layered Leaves embossing folder)
