Do you struggle with masculine cards? My most requested cards are masculine birthday cards. So, today I’m bringing you two, yes two, masculine Beauty of Friendship birthday cards.
I love how the repetition of images and textures can enhance your cards. For a very subtle touch, I used the Tasteful Textiles embossing folder on the Basic White cardstock. Additionally, I cut a 1-1/2 x 4-1/4 piece of Soft Succulent cardstock and stamped it repeatedly with Soft Succulent ink, cut it into three 1/2 inch pieces, and applied them to the card front. Finally, with Wink of Stella on their wings, the two birds add just the right pop of color.
I added some visual interest on my second card with a die-cut oval, a scalloped edge made with the Penned Flowers die, three Matte Black dots, and a strip of In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (DSP). All of these items help to highlight the tree focal image. Sometimes, it is the little thing that helps bring everything together into one cohesive card. As a result, I’m sure your special fella would love to receive either one of these Beauty of Friendship birthday cards!

Do you struggle with creating masculine birthday cards? I know this is a common complaint. I have that same difficulty. However, the planning of this masculine birthday card came together quite quickly.
As I had not made a masculine card for quite some time, I was a little apprehensive. In particular, I wanted my masculine birthday card to have a high contrast of colors, a repetition of design, a Stitched So Sweetly die, and a subtle Elegant Faceted gem. So, I gathered my supplies, and much to my surprise, the card almost designed itself. I especially like the pop of color the Cajun Craze cardstock adds.
To provide a little continuity and additional interest to the inside of the card, I added a small strip of the In Good Taste DSP, with a smaller border of Basic Black cardstock. Don’t forget that decorating the inside of your card provides a more cohesive look.
Let’s make a Simply Thankful card. Sometimes we just need to stop and take the time to be thankful for all the good things. With everything that is currently going on in the world, being thankful can be difficult. However, if we take a moment and ponder the small blessings that touch our lives every day, we can become simply thankful.
When I first started on my card making journey, I never decorated the inside of my cards. Despite that misstep, I have learned just as in life, that often the inside is much more important. We choose the right sentiment, write the heartfelt message, and add a little something to reflect the front of our card. These steps make our cards more memorable and often touch the hearts of our recipients.
The Sailing Home stamp set from Stampin’ Up! makes such a perfect masculine birthday card!
